Goodbye Vincent and Trees

Since I removed Winslow Homer's Boaters from the bathroom wall, I continued to the bedroom to paint over the original Van Gogh mural...now plain solid. This is my final effort for the moment indoors as I move outdoors for TREE REMOVAL.

Now I can see out!A few down, lots more to cut as soon as Estaban and Lupe with their chainsaws and matches get back...

Racing at the Springs

Sure sign Spring is here in Arkansas, Racing Season at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, America's First Resort! Here we are; Ann, Jackie, Carolyn and Susie at the Finish Line, before cashing in our big winning tickets.

Signs of Spring

Crocuses and daffodils finally appear...

after all the cold and snow. Here is our yard and neighborhood in January and February; kids here get pulled uphill on a tractor, looks like that's the way we go sledding here in the country!

Mark and Leroy near the community barn...

Our Exit..in the February snow. A harrowing drive on an icy day..

Hiking Pinnacle

View from the Pinnacle peak...

A view of the Arkansas River enroute and the the below the rocky road to get there...

Leroy and I scaled Pinnacle Mountain (3o minutes walk from our house) today for the first time; it takes only 45 minutes to ascend, and what wonderful views are up there. Leroy was not used to scrambling on rocks so he was a little unsure, but did enjoy the exercise. Finally good weather is back.

Beginning The Makeover

Redoing a bathroom and laundry room were the two first attempts at bringing this house back to life. I have so far done this myself, therefore mostly just cosmetic. Here is the result.

Before...behold the Winslow Homer bathroom wall and zebra print vinyl floor

After, the wall was simplified in effort to offset the unfortunate forest green fixtures. I completely redid the toilet inside and out and put it back!

Here is the after floor and new cabinet paint and hardware, not a complete redo, but at least clean!

Below is the before
"Las Palmas" laundry room, all wallpaper and tired and dirty vinyl flooring.

Just need to put in the washer, dryer and extra fridge and I'm in business.
